How to choose a security company in the UK
By Monarch Editorial
Selecting a security partner is a risk decision, not a commodity purchase. The cheapest hourly rate often becomes the most expensive outcome when officers are poorly briefed, poorly supervised, or poorly motivated.
Start with licensing. Confirm the contractor holds appropriate SIA licences for every role on site, and ask how licence expiry is monitored. Request sample assignment instructions and an example monthly management report.
Next, examine vetting. BS 7858-aligned processes, right-to-work checks, and referencing should be non-negotiable. Ask what happens when an officer calls in sick at short notice — replacement quality matters as much as primary cover.
Finally, meet the people who will actually run your account. A polished sales process means little if regional supervisors are invisible after go-live. Monarch Security builds every proposal around named accountability and measurable SLAs.
